Inspire / Expire は、ナタリー・ヴェラックによる新作インスタレーションです。
人類の記憶と歴史の重なりをめぐる瞑想として構想され、アーティスト自身の親密な声が、観る者を時間と体験を越える旅へと導きます。
作品の中心には、保存と変容の象徴である「塩」のプールが据えられます。観客はその縁に腰を下ろし、ヘッドフォンを通して過去と現在を行き来する語りに耳を傾けます。ヴェラックの声が紡ぐ物語は、世代を越えて受け継がれる記憶を呼び起こし、現在へと響き渡ります。
本作は 東京現代（Tokyo Gendai） にて初めて発表されます。今後さらに展開を深め、2026年に吉野でのパフォーマンス初演、そしてその後の東京での公演へとつながっていきます。

Inspire / Expire is a new installation by Nathalie Vairac, unfolding as a meditation on collective memory and the intertwined histories of humanity. Through her own intimate voice, the artist guides visitors on a journey across time and experience.
At its heart lies a pool of salt — a universal material of preservation and transformation. Around its edge, audiences are invited to sit, listen, and reflect. Through headphones, Vairac’s narration moves between past and present, weaving echoes of history into a living dialogue.
This presentation at Tokyo Gendai marks the first iteration of the work. Future versions will expand and deepen, leading to a culminating performance premiere in Yoshino in 2026, followed by a performance in Tokyo.

ナタリー・ヴェラック は、演劇、パフォーマンス、映画、サウンドにまたがる活動を展開するマルチディシプリナリー・アーティストです。クラシック演劇およびフィジカル・シアターの背景を持ち、記憶、遺産、継承、そしてディアスポラとしてのアイデンティティを問いかける作品を創作しています。
彼女はダカールを拠点とするパフォーマンス・カンパニー La Lune Nouvelle の創設者であり、芸術監督を務めています。その実践は儀式的な物語性に根ざし、スポークンワード（語り）、身体の動き、音の環境を織り交ぜながら、親密さと集合的な共鳴を併せ持つ作品を生み出しています。
Nathalie Vairac is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans theater, performance, film, and sound. Trained in both classical and physical theater, her work explores questions of memory, heritage, transmission, and diasporic identity.
She is the founder and artistic director of La Lune Nouvelle, a Dakar-based performance company. Rooted in a ritual approach to storytelling, her practice often weaves together spoken word, movement, and sonic environments, creating works that are both intimate and collective in resonance.
